Wherever you are in your wealth building journey, we meet you there.

Every client who works with Crystal Oak arrives from a different starting point. Some are earning more than ever and watching the tax bill grow with it. Some built a business and never got around to planning for themselves. Some spent decades saving and now face the shift to spending. See which fits you, and how we help.

Highly compensated individuals

Your income is complex. Your financial plan should be unique to you.

Corporate employees, medical professionals, military personnel, and public servants, often earn well but face benefits, tax situations, and career arcs that generic advice does not address. We plan around your actual situation.

Who this is for
Does this sound familiar?
You have equity compensation you are not sure how to handle.
RSUs, stock options, and ESPPs each carry their own vesting schedule, tax treatment, and decision window. Most advisors do not specialize in this. We do.
You earn well but are not building wealth as fast as you should be.
A high income does not automatically mean a strong financial position. Without a clear cash flow plan and an investment priority order, money has a way of disappearing despite a great salary.
Your tax bill surprises you every April.
Complex compensation means complex taxes. We work alongside your CPA so your financial plan accounts for your tax position all year, not just at filing time.
You are a medical professional with high income and limited time.
Physicians, dentists, and other healthcare professionals face a specific set of challenges: a late career start, high income, and often significant student debt. We plan around that reality specifically.
How we help

Equity Compensation

For those with RSUs, stock options, or an ESPP, we help you understand vesting, sale timing, and how concentrated positions fit your broader plan. Not everyone in this group has equity, and that is fine.

Employee Benefit Decisions

Pensions, a TSP, a 403(b), or a corporate 401(k). We help you understand the benefits available to you and how to use them, whether you are a government employee, military member, medical practitioner, or in a private sector role.

Tax Planning

Higher income usually brings a larger and more complex tax bill. We coordinate with your tax professional to help you understand the pro-active moves available to you before the year closes.

Strategic Target Allocations

A clear, intentional allocation matters more as the stakes grow. We help you understand how your accounts work together toward the goals that matter to you.

Insurance Analysis

Disability and life coverage are often overlooked by high earners whose income is their largest asset. We help you understand what you have and where the gaps are.

Retirement & Exit Planning

Whether retirement is decades away or you are eyeing an earlier exit, we help you understand what it takes to get there and what the transition could look like.

Work at Walmart, Tyson Foods, or J.B. Hunt?
We have built lifecycle guides for employees at Northwest Arkansas’ largest employers, walking through 401(k) plans, equity compensation, deferred comp, and stock purchase plans specific to each company.

Small business owners

You built the business. Now let us build the life around it.

When your personal and business finances are intertwined, decisions on one side ripple to the other. We act as a personal CFO focused on the owner behind the business.

Who this is for
Does this sound familiar?
Your business and personal finances are completely tangled.
Business income, owner draws, retained earnings, and personal savings are all connected in ways that make your true financial picture hard to see. We untangle it.
You had a great year and have no idea what to do with the profit.
Pay yourself more, reinvest, max out a SEP-IRA, or pay down debt? The answer depends on your personal goals, tax situation, and next dollar priority.
No one is watching your personal finances while you run the business.
You have a bookkeeper, maybe an accountant. But who is thinking about your retirement, your insurance gaps, and your personal cash flow? That is the blind spot Crystal Oak fills.
You’re a 1099 contractor and know you could be doing more but don’t know where to start.
That is exactly what our accountability partnership is designed for. You tell us your goals. We build the plan. We check in to make sure it actually happens.
How we help

Small Business Planning

Owner compensation, entity considerations, and how the business supports your personal goals. We help you understand the levers you have as an owner.

Cashflow Management

Business income rarely arrives evenly. We help you build a system that separates personal from business and keeps both moving toward your goals.

Tax-Aware Investing

When the business has a strong year, where the money goes matters. We help you understand tax-aware ways to deploy profit, coordinated with your tax professional.

Retirement & Exit Planning

A SEP-IRA, Solo 401(k), or SIMPLE IRA each fit different situations. We help you understand your options and what an eventual exit or transition could involve.

Insurance Analysis

Business owners are often underinsured personally. We help you understand where your personal coverage stands.

Estate Plan Review

A business adds complexity to an estate. We help you understand how your plan and your business fit together, in coordination with your attorney.

Pre-retirees and retirees

You spent decades building it. Let us make sure it lasts.

The shift from saving to spending is one of the hardest transitions in personal finance. We help you understand what a sustainable, confident retirement can look like.

Who this is for
Does this sound familiar?
When can I actually afford to retire?
We build a clear income picture, including Social Security timing, pension coordination, and a portfolio withdrawal strategy, so you can answer that question with confidence, not anxiety.
How do I turn my savings into reliable income?
Building wealth and living on wealth require completely different strategies. We help you build a sustainable income plan that does not require you to watch the market every day.
What does a transition to assisted living or senior housing cost?
Through our community partnerships, we help families understand the real cost of senior housing transitions and plan for it, so the decision is not made in a moment of crisis.
My Medicare and Social Security decisions feel overwhelming.
These decisions carry lasting financial consequences and confusing rules. We walk through them with you at your pace, with no jargon and no rush.
How we help

Retirement & Exit Planning

Timing, income needs, and how the pieces come together. We help you understand what it takes to step away with confidence.

Distribution Planning

Which accounts to draw from, and in what order, shapes how long your money lasts. We help you understand sustainable withdrawal approaches and required minimum distributions.

Social Security Strategies

When and how you claim can meaningfully affect your lifetime income. We help you understand the tradeoffs of the timing decision.

Tax Planning

Taxes do not stop in retirement. We help you understand how withdrawals, Social Security, and required distributions interact, coordinated with your tax professional.

Legacy Planning

What you leave behind, and to whom, deserves intention. We help you understand beneficiary designations and how your wishes translate into a plan.

Estate Plan Review

Beneficiary designations and estate coordination, so your plan reflects your wishes. We work alongside your attorney rather than replacing them.

The administrative and discovery work that makes a real plan possible. Client agreements signed, discovery documents shared securely, your client portal established, identifying your goals and values across three time horizons.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions.

Do you need to be in Arkansas to work with Crystal Oak?
Not at all. While Northwest Arkansas is our home base, we serve clients across Arkansas and Texas, and remotely nationwide by video or phone. Our tele-wealth model means you get the same personalized planning experience wherever you are.
Do you work with medical professionals specifically?
Yes. Physicians, dentists, and other healthcare professionals have specific planning needs: a late career start, high income, and often significant student debt. We understand those dynamics and plan around them.
Do you handle my taxes?
We are not CPAs and we do not file tax returns. But we review your tax situation regularly, work alongside your CPA, and make sure your financial plan accounts for your tax position throughout the year.
Do you work with my accountant or CPA?
Yes, and we strongly encourage it. We are not CPAs and do not file tax returns, but we collaborate with your accountant so your personal financial plan and business tax strategy work together.
At what stage of business does it make sense to work with you?
There is no minimum revenue threshold. If you are generating meaningful income and the personal side of your finances feels like an afterthought, it is the right time to talk.
Is it too late to work with a financial planner if I am already retired?
Not at all. Many of the most consequential financial decisions happen in retirement, including RMDs, Medicare, Social Security adjustments, and estate changes. Having a planner in your corner during retirement is just as valuable as having one before it.
Do you work with both spouses or just one?
We strongly prefer to work with both spouses together whenever possible. Financial decisions at this stage affect both partners deeply, and having both people in the conversation leads to better outcomes.
What does it cost?
Our fee structure depends on the complexity of your situation and the service model that fits best. We discuss fees transparently in our first conversation, with no surprises.
Next steps

Ready to get your full financial picture in focus?

Wherever you fit, the first step is the same: a conversation. No pressure, no jargon, just clarity on where you stand and how we might help.
